Semi-permanent makeup (PMU) places pigment in the upper layers of skin to create soft, makeup-like enhancement — brows, eyeliner, lips. Unlike traditional tattoos, PMU fades naturally over 1-3 years, giving you flexibility to refresh or change technique. Every PMU service includes a 6-8 week touch-up appointment.
What to expect2-2.5 hour first session. Detailed mapping and pigment selection. Topical anesthetic. The 6-8 week touch-up perfects the result. Initial color appears dark, then softens to its true tone over 4 weeks. Avoid water, sweat, and skincare actives on the area for 7 days.
Frequently asked questions
Microblading or powder brows?
Microblading = hair-stroke, most natural; works best on normal-to-dry skin. Powder/shading = soft makeup look; better for oily skin (where hair-strokes can blur).
How long does PMU last?
Brows: 1-2 years. Eyeliner: 2-3 years. Lip blushing: 1-3 years. Fades naturally — no lasering required unless you want it removed faster.
Does it hurt?
Topical anesthetic makes it well-tolerated. Lips are more sensitive than brows or eyeliner.
When can I work out, swim, shower normally?
Sweat/swimming: avoid for 7 days. Showers: gentle, avoid soaking the area for 7 days. Full activity: back to normal at day 10.
